Ronald A. McIver
March 18, 1947 - July 13, 2013

Ronald A. McIver, age 66, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on March 18, 1947, in Battle Creek, the son of Gerald H. and Helen M. (Markman) McIver.

In his youth Ron was a swimmer, enjoyed skydiving and downhill skiing, was an avid golfer and loved animals.

Ronald was a 1965 graduate of Lakeview High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1982. After his military service he attended Kellogg Community College.

On July 21, 1987, he was united in marriage to the former Donna L. Mathews who preceded him in death on February 6, 2001.

Ron was employed at the VA Medical Center for several years retiring in 2001 and was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the V.F.W.

Surviving is his mother, Helen M. McIver; sister, Sharon Beach; nieces, Robyn (Brian) Rozel, Myriah Bloomberg, and Heather (Richard) Hebert; nephews, Todd (Sheila) Baker and Brayden Hebert; an uncle, Roland Markman. He was preceded in death by his father.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service with full military honors will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
