Birthday Bash Birthday Boy Greg Bishop (who was born the same day as Jan Harper Weir at BC's Community Hospital) and his wife Sherry were recently surprised by a visit from Class Ambassador Sam Lanham and his wife Jane in Florida. A true party broke out at Bayou Bills when Sam got the entire restaurant singing "Happy Birthday" to Greg. |

Goodwill Ambassador's Tour Across America During an extended adventure that Sam Lanham refers to as his "Tour Across America," the seasoned traveler circled much of the western U.S. by auto and visited many classmates along his route. Not so fond of car travel, Lanham's wife Jane flew to Seattle to meet him for an Alaskan cruise and touring in Canada midway through the trip before he headed south. Lanham's final mile count was a remarkable 8,643. [There's no doubt that our class of friendly faces has spread across the U.S. Can anyone top the number of Sam's classmate visits?] |

Deanna Shaffer and Shelly Kirkland Brown met for lunch at the
Weathervane restaurant in Charlevoix.
Shelly says, "It's always great to go back to Michigan for vacation." Linda Corcoran Silverman and husband Rich enjoyed a cruise around the Galapagos Islands off the coast of South America. The couple departed from Quito, Ecuador on Celebrity's Xpedition (a small ship carrying just 90 passengers). Participating in 2-3 excursions a day, Linda remarked, "so lots of hiking" along with "great animals and such a variety." The two also visited the Darwin Research Center. |

| Ron Torres and Sara Buchanan Torres spent the summer enjoying their new boat, the "Bountiful." The couple cruises around Naples, Marco Island and Ft. Myers Beach for day trips and have taken overnight trips to Key West and Useppa Island. Son's Wedding Lures An excited Ruth William Person (left) began a long journey May 3 when she and son Matt took off for Kathmandu, Nepal to attend younger son Andrew's wedding.
